Who we are
SafetyUnit is a trading name of Ross Macdonald Consultancy Ltd, a company registered in Scotland with company number SC848204, whose registered office is 1st Floor, 2 West Regent Street, Glasgow, G2 1RW. What we collect
Your name, email address and organisation, and your role and phone number if you choose to give them. We also keep your answers to the readiness check, whether you agreed to receive emails from us, and the date and time you submitted the form.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your details to give you your personalised summary and the free guides, and to keep a record of who has requested them. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing these resources and understanding who uses them.
If you ticked the box to receive emails, we will send you occasional emails about Martyn's Law guidance and our services. Our lawful basis for those emails is your consent. If you did not tick the box, we will not send you marketing emails.
Who sees it
Your details are seen by SafetyUnit only. Our website host, Netlify, stores form submissions on our behalf as our service provider. Netlify is based in the United States, so your details may be stored outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards that UK data protection law requires. We do not sell your details or share them with anyone else for their own use.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for up to 24 months from the date you submitted the form, then delete them. If you agreed to receive emails, we keep your name and email address on our mailing list until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. You can also ask us to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. You can withdraw your consent to emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. To use any of these rights, contact us at hello@thesafetyunit.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
