Safety starts with caring about people. When your team know they are looked after, they look after your business. We help small and medium-sized enterprises build safety cultures that work at every level, from the boardroom to the shop floor.
We start from a simple place: we genuinely want to do well for the people in your organisation. It's simple. This is the basis for everything we do in SafetyUnit.
When people feel looked after, they take ownership. They spot hazards, raise concerns, and look out for one another. A safety culture that runs through every level of a business is your most effective risk management tool.
Safety is led from the top, but it only succeeds when it is lived at every level. Our role is to help you build that, and to give you the systems, knowledge, and confidence to sustain it.
For small and medium-sized businesses, that means practical, proportionate support built around how you actually operate, sized appropriately for a business without a dedicated safety function.
Every safety decision starts with the question: what is right for the people doing this work? Compliance follows naturally when that question is answered well.
Effective safety culture requires visible leadership commitment and genuine engagement from every person in the organisation. Both have to be present for a safety system to actually work.
Good safety management is fit for purpose: proportionate to the size and risk profile of the business. We design systems that your team will actually use, because unused systems protect nobody.
The legal standard exists for a reason. We help you meet it honestly, without unnecessary bureaucracy, and with clear evidence that you have done what is required.
Practical health and safety support, scaled to your size and sector. Whether you need day-to-day compliance support or specialist investigation work, we have the expertise to help.
Ongoing or project-based support covering policy development, risk assessments, safety management systems, and regulatory compliance. Designed around how your business actually works.
Every business needs a Competent Person under UK health and safety law. We provide that appointment formally, giving you legal compliance and a genuine point of expertise to call on.
Independent, thorough investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses. We identify root causes and provide clear recommendations to prevent recurrence. We work with organisations, insurers, and legal teams.
Straightforward compliance support built for smaller businesses. We help you understand what you need, put it in place proportionately, and give you confidence that your people are protected and your obligations are met.
We have built dedicated safety libraries and sector-specific expertise across a wide range of industries. Some examples are shown below, with further sectors in the library.

SafetyUnit has a long association with the licensed trade, public safety, and security work. That experience now runs through SURIS Events, our dedicated platform for event safety planning and operations, built to match and go beyond what else exists on the market. Martyn's Law is bringing new duties for premises and events with a public capacity of 200 or more, and that makes this experience matter more than ever.
